Sonoma State University
Sonoma State University is located in the heart of California's scenic wine country, about 50 miles north of San Francisco. The campus is relatively small and compact - it is walkable within 5-7 minutes and located in Rohnert Park, a pastoral town of 40,000 residents in Sonoma County.
Sonoma State is home to the new Green Music Center, a music education department with state-of-the-art classrooms, practice rooms, and two concert halls.
The Tuscany Suites are six-person, four-bedroom suites with living rooms and kitchens. Bedrooms sleep 1-2 persons and have private bathrooms.
The summer program has seven live-in counselors on staff, including a head counselor and an activities director. The ratio of students to counselors is 10 to 1.
Daily meal service is included with room and board cost. Vegetarian, vegan, and other dietary needs can be accommodated.
Field trips, social hours, soccer games, game nights, and other organized recreation activities are planned throughout the summer session.
A multipurpose athletic facility, pool, sports, recreation, and game center is available with the purchase of day-use passes.
During the session, participants benefits from of the array of cultural and recreational opportunities in Sonoma County and nearby San Francisco. Attractions in Sonoma County include world-famous vineyards, mineral spas, hot air balloon rides, natural parks, art museums, music festivals, and more.
San Francisco is less than an hour away and features the Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman's Wharf, Golden Gate Park, California Academy of Sciences, the Exploratorium, museums, cultural centers, and other well-known attractions.
