California Summer Music’s Living Music program extends to the local community the benefits of live classical and contemporary music to listeners, old and new. Music in Local Schools and Summer Programs

CSM students and faculty perform on location in schools and other summer programs in the area during the festival. The performances are paired with comprehensive talks and demonstrations that both enhance CSM student and faculty experience with the local community, and educate audiences about the process of creating and learning music.

Retirement Communities

Every summer, CSM goes directly out to communities that are unable to attend concerts. We are delighted to bring various performances by young musicians to organizations every year as we all share the unique benefits that live music provides.

Meet-the-Artists

After concerts and master classes, audiences can join a post-event reception in which they can mingle with the artists and teachers. It is the perfect way to engage with the artists after a compelling and inspiring performance.
